Arborists

Experienced Climbing Arborist / Team Leader

Location: Near Louth, Lincolnshire

Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 (Dependent on experience and qualifications)

Hours: Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 17:00

The Role

We are looking for an experienced, high-calibre Team Leader / Climbing Arborist to join our growing field team. You will be the "boots on the ground" leader, responsible for overseeing site operations, ensuring impeccable health and safety standards, and delivering the high-quality tree work that has earned us our 5-star reputation.

This role is perfect for a skilled climber who is ready to take on more responsibility, mentor junior staff, and represent a company that truly values its employees and the environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Leadership: Lead a team of arborists and ground staff to complete a variety of domestic and commercial contracts efficiently and safely.

  • Expert Climbing & Rigging: Execute complex dismantling, pruning, and crown work using modern climbing and rigging techniques.

  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with BS3998:2010 and LOLER regulations. Conduct on-site risk assessments and maintain high safety standards.

  • Client Relations: Act as a professional point of contact for clients on-site, ensuring their objectives are met with the "Finch Arb" level of courtesy and expertise.

  • Equipment Management: Oversee the care and maintenance of state-of-the-art equipment and machinery.

  • Mentorship: Guide and support the development of junior team members, sharing your knowledge and skills.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Lead Climber/Team Leader in a professional arboricultural environment.

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in pruning, dismantling, and technical rigging.

  • Qualifications: * Relevant NPTC/Lantra units (e.g., CS30, 31, 38, 39, 41).

    • Full, clean UK Driving Licence (B+E Trailer entitlement is highly desirable).

    • CSCS card (preferred).

  • Personal Attributes:

    • A positive, "can-do" attitude—we want people who enjoy their work and have fun as part of a team.

    • Clear communication skills and a professional appearance.

    • Ability to pass an Enhanced DBS check (required for work on schools and sensitive sites).

    • Must pass a 'Fit to Work' medical.
